The AGX Series is a high-power-density AC & DC Power Supply, delivering 6kVA–24kVA in 4U with scalability up to 1.29MVA with Cabinet system. This “All-in-One” test system functions as an AC/DC power source, current source, Grid Simulator and Regenerative AC/DC e-load. 

With AC, DC, AC+DC, and DC+AC modes plus extended high frequencies to 3000Hz, the AGX provides a flexible, Smart Source with over 90% energy efficiency.

The AGX provides a max current per phase of 48Arms available up to 166.7Vrms from 45 to 200Hz, providing up to 37% more current at lower voltage

Isolated Neutral per phase allows user to operate AGX in AC, DC, AC+DC, DC+AC output configurations available in single, split, three phase and multi-channels.

  • For higher power levels up to 129kVA/kW, contact Factory for more details.
  • All AGX models have a single voltage range with constant power profile. This eliminates the need for switching between a high and a low voltage range. If desired, a low voltage range can be simulated.
  • Maximum current ratings shown are available up to max. power point. Voltage and Current follow constant power profile so higher current at lower voltage and lower current at higher voltage is available.
  • Three phase input: 380 ~ 480 VAC ± 10% input range. All models have active power factor corrected AC inputs. Models above 12kVA/kW require 380~480Vac Input service to deliver full power. 208-240Vac models are not available at this time.
  • 19 Inch Cabinet not included with parallel system kits. Contact us for integrated cabinet systems.
  • Lower power AGX models can be upgraded to higher power levels using Pacific’s AGX POWER FLEX upgrade program.

The AGX Series is a AC+DC high‑performance bi-directional regenerative programmable grid simulator and load (All-in-one) system that can both source and absorb power, enabling efficient testing of power electronics, EV systems, energy storage, and grid‑connected devices.

Regenerative means the AGX Series returns absorbed energy back to the grid instead of dissipating it as heat. This significantly reduces energy consumption, heat generation, and operating cost during high‑power testing.

It is both.
The AGX Series operates as:

  • A programmable power source
  • A programmable electronic load
  • A bidirectional system for energy flow in either direction

A four‑quadrant AGX power source can operate in all four quadrants of the voltage–current (I–V) plane, enabling both sourcing and sinking of current under positive and negative voltage conditions. The direction of instantaneous power flow is determined by P=V×I, when P>0 (quadrant 1 and 3) , the unit delivers power to the DUT (source mode), whereas when P<0 (quadrant 2 and 4), it absorbs power from the DUT (sink or regenerative mode), with the absorbed energy returned to the grid.

It is important to distinguish this regenerative sink capability from a regenerative electronic load capability. While both functions involve energy absorption, they are not functionally equivalent.

An electronic load mode is optimised for precise load emulation and dynamic current control.

The AGX provides both input-to-output isolation, and phase to phase or channel to channel isolation. Galvanic isolation provides complete separation between the input and output so there is no electron flow between channels.

AGX has embedded, web browser interface with real-time control, we call it SmartSource Suite. No driver/license required to operate AGX.

The AGX is designed to handle overload conditions with its capability of providing 130% of its rated current for a duration of 2 seconds. This is critical for applications that have inrush current conditions that arise due to start up, transient power demands, or sudden changes in loads.
