The RLS Series is regenerative 4-Quatrant Electronic Load is designed to simulate real world AC/DC linear or non-linear load with Regenerative capability.  

The RLS offers 6kVA to 24kVA in 4U size and scalable up to 1.29MVA with cabinet system. The 4-quadrant load has several AC and DC emulation modes and flexible configurations of single, split and 3-phase operation, and steady-state or transient executions ideal for testing.

4 Quadrant Operation for Leading & Lagging Power Flows

The RLS Series supports testing PV inverters, V2G, EV Chargers, EVSE, batteries, UPS, and AC/DC power supplies. A key advantage of the RLS Regenerative Load is its ability to operate in all four quadrants using programmable phase shift in CC or CS modes. Compared to 2-Quadrant non-regenerative AC loads, the RLS series allows simulation of inductive and capacitive loads to fully test AC power sources, as shown in the leading and lagging power factor examples.

Built-in Advance Digital Scope and Measurement

Advance scope function captures voltage and current time domain signals, perfectly synchronized to the output frequency. Voltage and current displayed with accurate phase relationship. Display output waveforms on front panel or in Web browser.

The built-in Measurement eliminate the need for an external power analyzer by measuring voltage and current harmonics. Harmonics information is displayed in either bar charts or detailed table format for easy viewing and analysis. Data is displayed for each phase or all three phase simultaneously.

    • For higher power levels up to 756kW, contact Factory for more details.
    • All RLS models have a single voltage range with constant power profile. This eliminates the need for switching between a high and a low voltage range. If desired, a low voltage range can be simulated.
    • Maximum current ratings shown are available up to maximum power point. Voltage and Current follow constant power profile so higher current at lower voltage and lower current at higher voltage is available.
    • Three phase input: 380 ~ 480 VAC ± 10% input range. All models have active power factor corrected AC inputs. Models above 12kW require 380~480Vac Input service to deliver full power. 208-240Vac models are not available at this time.
    • 19 Inch Cabinet not included with parallel system kits. Contact us for integrated cabinet systems.
    • Lower power RLS models can be upgraded to higher power levels using our POWER FLEX upgrade program.

The RLS is Regenerative 4-Quadrant AC & DC Load  Simulator is designed to emulate real-world normal and abnormal load conditions for testing a wide range of AC or DC power generating or conversion equipment. The RLS’s high-power density provides up to 12kVA/kW in a 4U chassis and can parallel up to 24kVA/kW

An electronic load is a programmable device that draws controlled current or power from a source to test power converters, batteries, and chargers, under various load conditions.

An electronic load mode is optimised for precise load emulation and dynamic current control. RLS simulates AC and DC loads for testing PV inverters, V2G, EV Chargers, EVSE, batteries, UPS, and AC/DC power supplies. Fully operate in all four quadrants using programmable phase shift in CC or CS modes.

This allows simulation of inductive and capacitive loads to fully test AC power sources
