The Regenerative Grid Simulator “RGS” Series is a high-power-density Grid Simulator. RGS offers Optional 4-Quadrant Load feature, delivering 12kVA–24kVA in 4U with scalability up to 756kVA+ with Cabinet system. Designed to emulate global grid conditions for compliance and validation testing global regulatory compliance standards such as IEEE 1547, UL 1741, IEC 61000-4-xx, IEC 61000-4, and more.

With optional AC/DC e-load capability, the RGS Series can simulate inductive, capacitive, and resistive load profiles for simulating complex Real world load conditions

The RGS provides a wide range of current eliminating the risk of over or under sizing the power source.The RGS provides a max current per phase of 48Arms available up to 166.7Vrms from 45 to 200Hz, providing up to 37% more current at lower voltage compared to a typical unit on the market that maxes out at 35A/phase.

Accurately Emulate Grid Conditions and Verify Compliance

The increasing development of grid-connected devices like Solar Inverter, EV charger with V2G capabilities require accurate compliance testing to meet regulatory standards such as IEEE 1547 and UL 1741. The Grid emulation demands for simulating LVRT, HVRT, Voltage dip immunity, voltage sags, Harmonics, Interharmonics, flicker events, anti-islanding conditions, and other real-world grid phenomena to support advanced testing requirements. RGS series along with Pre-written Test standard sequence options allows user to perform these test accurately as per standard.

Simulate Harmonics AND Interharmonics

The RGS Regenerative Grid Simulator built-in digitizer and scope with 200 µs resolution. Supports LIST, PULSE, STEP, and generates Sine, Square, Triangle, Clipped, Harmonics, and Inter-harmonics.

Low Leakage Optimization Option (M26007)

  • Reduced AC input common-mode capacitance minimizes leakage current to earth
    Prevents nuisance tripping of RCD*/GFCI protection devices.
  • Maintains full voltage and current source operation
    Simplifies integration into protected laboratory and production environments
  • Ideal for installations with sensitive protection devices or strict leakage current requirements
  • M26002 combines both reduced output capacitance AND low leakage (M25057 and M26007 RCD* (Residual-Current Device): Residual-current circuit breaker or ground fault circuit interrupter)

Notes

  • For higher power levels up to 1.296MVA, contact Factory for more details.
  • All RGS models have a single voltage range with constant power profile. This eliminates the need for switching between a high and a low voltage range. If desired, a low voltage range can be simulated.
  • Maximum current ratings shown are available up to maximum power point. Voltage and Current follow constant power profile so higher current at lower voltage and lower current at higher voltage is available.
  • Three phase input: 380 ~ 480 VAC ± 10% input range. All models have active power factor corrected AC inputs. Models above 12kVA require 380~480Vac Input service to deliver full power. 208-240Vac models are not available at this time.
  • 19 Inch Cabinet not included with parallel system kits. Contact us for integrated cabinet systems.
  • Lower power RGS models can be upgraded to higher power levels using our POWER FLEX upgrade program.
