GI-SI Series

Pulsed AC Current Source, up to 100kA

The GI-SI Series pulsed AC current generators are engineered to deliver stable and precise current output for demanding testing applications. With current ranges from 900A to 40kA and power capability up to 300kVA per unit, the systems provide reliable sinusoidal and user-defined current waveforms across flexible operating ranges.
Designed for ease of operation, the GI-SI Series supports remote interfaces, analogue amplification, and digital input/output control, making it suitable for laboratory, R&D, and production environments.
An integrated sequencer and timer enable accurate circuit breaker and switch testing, while continuous current operation is supported up to one-third of the maximum current rating. These capabilities make the system ideal for testing circuit breakers, thermal and magnetic evaluation of contacts, coils, transformers, and related high-current applications

FAQ

The GI-SI Series is a pulsed AC current source designed to generate precisely controlled AC current waveforms, including pulsed and dynamic current profiles, for specialized testing applications.

A pulsed AC current source delivers programmable AC current pulses with controlled amplitude, timing, and waveform shape. Unlike voltage sources, it ensures the required current flows through the DUT, regardless of impedance changes.

AC power source → Controls voltage and frequency

AC current source → Controls current magnitude and waveform

The GIIS Series is used when current accuracy and repeatability are more important than voltage control.

The GI-SI Series is designed for:

Highcurrent pulsed testing

Immunity and stress testing

Component and system validation

Applications where currentdriven behavior must be evaluated

Yes. The GI-SI Series supports remote control and automation, allowing integration into automated test systems and softwaredriven test sequences.

The GI-SI Series can be integrated into coordinated test setups, enabling synchronized operation with other instruments as part of a complete test system.
